I just finished my custom-made utility belt, similar to the one in ST:XI. I used a nylon SWAT-style belt that i had used for a different costume. I had gotten it from a local Army/Navy Surplus store, which is now out of business, for about $15. I painted a Starfleet insignia on the buckle with Testors silver chrome model paint. The holsters are made out of black Kydex plastic, which I got off ebay. I cut the Kydex from templates I had made from cardboard, and then glued all of the pieces together with heavy duty super glue, which proved stronger than I expected. I then sealed the edges with black silicone to give it a more finished look. The phaser holster is molded to fit the odd contours of the ST:XI phaser. I super glued black belt hooks (also from ebay) to the back of each holster and lined the inside of each holster with 1/8" thick black Rubber Pipe Insulation Tape, which I got from Lowe's for $8 for a 30-foot roll. They fit the Playmates toys perfectly and hold them securely, so nothing will fall out of the holster. It was a cheaper alternative to the Playmates utility belt, which comes out soon. The supplies for the belt and holsters cost me under $30. I took some inspiration from holsters I saw on ebay for $50+ each. It took the better part of 2 weeks for me to complete this, working on it in my spare time. this is where I got the idea from: shop.ebay.com/merchant/balsikner_W0QQ_nkwZQQ_armrsZ1QQ_fromZQQ_ipgZmy belt:
